Workshops
The following is a list of workshops that I have created over the years to present at events or small gatherings. If you have a desire for me to present on these subjects, or something not listed, please contact me.
Old Guard: An academic look at fact vs. fiction
This workshop is focused on the debate of the Old Guard. For many years people have written, provided keynotes, and even exciting stories about their Old Guard beliefs and roots. Over the last 30+ years, prominent speakers and authors have addressed their own views on the topic in magazines, online bulletin boards, and even in today’s Facebook world. Everyone from Steve Maidhof, founder of NLA, to Tony De Blasé, creator of our leather pride flag, has gone back and forth on the subject. This class will bring out printed material going as far back as pre-1970 and will be presented to the participants in an orderly fashion to help them decide if Old Guard values and practices were once a way of life or something that developed and grew over the last 40 years. I do not provide handouts of this workshop; it is a PowerPoint. When presenting this workshop, 90 min would be excellent, so people can ask questions.

The Art of Gay Cruising
This discusses the hidden underground world of sex in public spaces and nonverbal sexual communication and pick-up activity. In the absence of Hanky Codes and Gay bars, other codes and locations took a role in the gay sexual world. Understanding the sexual instinct of gay men seeking each other out. The very nature of the art of this activity and its design has a deep connection to our leather lifestyle, allowing many of us our first taste of D/s. Learn where they went and how they did it, as well as how cruising has evolved in our digital age and where it is going in the future. Understand the addiction and desire and how important a role it plays socially for many people. After hearing this class, I can promise you a trip to the local Wal-Mart will never be the same for you! The workshop is a PowerPoint, it is about 1 hour with Q&A, and comes with props of Glory Hole drills and more! Tactics and do's and don'ts are discussed.

Bootworship
This class is designed to provide the attendees with a clear understanding of boot worship, a dying tradition, and art in the Leather community. Most people hit the chair and get a shine and repair, but some just want intense worship and hot tongue running up their boots and dancing across their toe tips. This workshop gives an understanding of toxicity issues, when to lick, where to lick, and most importantly, how to incorporate a customer’s fetish into the scene of the boot worship itself. The rubbing of the leather, the working of the foot in the boot, and at times even the teasing of the customer by the Bootblack themselves. Whether you a male or female bootblack, does not matter; all can enjoy your worship if you do it right! This class takes about 1 hour with Q&A and requires a Bootblack chair or set up to perform the activity.

Cigar Sex
This class is designed to provide the attendees with a clear understanding of Cigar Sex, the health risks, and different ways to use your cigar to heighten the scene. Cigar sex can range from insertable to branding if you know-how. The main thing is to do this safely and effectively to not hurt or harm the person you are in the scene with. Many fetishes can be incorporated into cigar sex, but fire and smoke are the two most common. The workshop is a hands-on class, and it is required to be OUTSIDE, or smoking allowed environment. The workshop provides a basic understanding of cigars and their care before launching into the sex and the fun accompanying it. Most people view cigar sex as nothing but an unhealthy activity; however, cigars are NOT meant to be inhaled, so even if you just enjoy the taste of pleasure over inhaling cigars, the fun can be enjoyed by all. This class takes about 1 hour with Q&A and requires a Bootblack chair or set up to perform the activity.
Understanding BDSM Dynamics, D/s, SM, and KINK
This class is designed to provide the attendees with a clear understanding of BDSM dynamics. Many people forget the specific differences between a Sadist and a Masochist or the overlapping Sadomasochist. They ignore the Dominant and submissive and the overlapping switch. Understanding dynamics is not just about who the Top is, who is the bottom, or who is penetrating, and who is getting penetrated. Dynamics go beyond that, just as SM is beyond penetration. Comparing the S and the M with Doms vs. subs and how they overlap or do not overlap is the purpose of this course. You may find out that you are not what you thought you were after this class. The workshop, of course, is based on my books, and the chapter focused on BDSM dynamics. It is a class participation workshop and generally can be done within one hour. There will, of course, be Q&A times, and a wipe board would be needed; otherwise, the class can be taught as a PowerPoint.
Gay vs. Heterosexual Leather
This workshop is focused on the cultural differences between the Gay Leather and Heterosexual Leather communities. The objective is not to create divisive attitudes but to inform both cultures of how they both, working together, led to the development of the existing leather community today. The workshop focuses from 1900 to – present. It highlights art, literature, heroes, symbols, rituals, and legislative activities that have helped advance both cultures. This workshop aims to provide a better understanding of each culture’s needs, desires, and achievements. We do not provide handouts of this workshop; it is a PowerPoint and is only taught by one of the three contributors of the class listed above. This is a three-hour workshop when you include Q&A, so please be aware of the time needed. Otherwise, rushing this class will not allow the attendees to enjoy it fully.
Restructure Revitalize or Incorporate a Leather Club
This class is designed to provide the attendees with assistance on either their existing Leather club or just help with creating a new Leather club. Over the last 15+ years, I have been involved with restructuring or reinventing old Leather clubs that need an original community purpose or fresh direction for their longevity. I have applied these talents across the United States in both the Gay and Heterosexual Leather communities. As a President of NLA International, I oversaw that organizations overhaul and new incorporations of chapters within their association. I have also managed to aid with groups who were incorporating their own club and needed to understand Bylaws, Policies, and legal concerns that come up when incorporating a new organization or club. This workshop focuses mostly on the ideas and suggestions brought by the attendees. However, I also provide examples on topics and of other past clubs I have worked with. The class generally takes one hour, with Q&A, and requires a note board. The workshop can be done for groups wanting help on their personal club incorporations should they desire, and, in that case, it should last at least three hours. Hand-outs are provided for the attendees to take notes and quickly reference.
Finding Daddy and petitioning for service
This workshop was created to help submissives look for positive things when selecting a perspective Dominant. How to tell the red flags of concern and ways to communicate their interests to the Dom effectively so that they can determine if this person/s is the right person/s for them. The class also teaches the subs and Doms how to design a petition, what to ask for in-home D/s environments, and what to look for within the answers from those submissives in their petitions. I have provided an example of my petition publicly; you can find it on this site. The class takes about 1 hour with Q&A, handouts are provided for attendees.
Good sub or bratty sub?
This class helps people understand what type of sub they are: a bratty Kinksters, strictly disciplined, pain pig, or just an all-around slutty bundle of joy! The range of submissives is extensive, and most people attempt to lump them by term only, and there is a flaw to that theory. You can find bratty leatherboys, but you can also find very disciplined ones and what to expect from that style of dynamic. Most subs have conflicts because they struggle with understanding where they fall within the lines of all the many dynamics out there. This class is designed to help them achieve that goal and become more empowered and confident about their space in the chaos of our ever-growing community.
